Coming Soon! A Christmas Story from Our Own Ed Engelbart!

Scrooge's third visitor, from Charles Dickens:...Image via WikipediaI'm very excited to announce that on Christmas Day this year, Pequannock News will be privileged to offer a Christmas Story, researched and unearthed by Pequannock's Township Historian Ed Engelbart, about Cornelius Van Houten Ryerson's Christmas Eve flight from his oppressive work on the Mandeville farm in Pompton Plains.

I won't spoil it, but suffice to say Cornelius receives some help from an unlikely source and goes on to play an important part in our nation's history.

Christopher Lotito is a member of the Pequannock EnvironmentalHistoric District, and Flood Control Advisory Commissions as well as the author of  "Torrent," a book about flooding in the region.  Lotito's personal mission is to reduce new taxes, drastically reduce flooding, and preserve more green spaces for our children.  Christopher Lotito Profile
