MANASQUAN, NJ - AUGUST 29: A tree brought dow...Image by Getty Images via @daylifeTuesday September 13th, Lincoln Park New Jersey's municipal government issued the following letter to New Jersey lawmakers in response to Hurricane Irene related flooding:

To: Governor Chris Christie, Congressman Frelinghuysen, Senator Joe Pennachio, Assemblyman DeCroce, Assemblyman Jay Webber

On behalf the Mayor and Council and citizens of Lincoln Park, I would like to reiterate our position on the need for action regarding implementation of the Advisory Committees 15 point recommendation, attached please find our Resolution R11-146 regarding this matter as approved at our May 16, 2011 meeting.

Additionally strong consideration should be given to a regulatory measure capping the amount of capacity all reservoirs are permitted to maintain.  The logic behind this measure would be to provide a reserve capacity to withstand any significant rainfall event.
