FLOOD ADVISORY STATEMENT
for PEQUANNOCK TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS

Lime is available for residents at the DPW garage located on Alexander Avenue until 3:00 PM today and from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Sunday. The limited number of cleanup kits have all been taken. Cleaning Supplies and food are available to Pequannock Township residents at the First Reformed Church. Red Cross is providing meals (lunch & dinner) for residents at Lyman Ave Park.
To have gas turned on, contact PSE&G at (800) 436-7734. PSE&G has established a command post at PV Park. Do not energize electrical panels that were submerged. They must be serviced by a qualified electrician. Representatives from FEMA will begin visiting affected neighborhoods today. All homeowner's are encouraged to register with FEMA online at www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-3362. Internet access will be available at Town Hall & the Library for residents who do not have access to a PC - times to be announced.
Additional garbage collections for flood debris are underway. Additional trucks have been assigned specifically to impacted area's and collections will continue today and Monday 9/5 (Labor Day). Flood damaged material should be placed at curbside for pickup. Clearly identify items that are on your lawn and are not being discarded. Please be patient as the amount of material to be collected is extensive. Metal goods will be picked up separately and large electronics may be left by the hauler for later pickups. Please separate flood debris from regular household trash. Household hazardous waste will be collected at Town Hall next Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 - 2:00.
Tetanus booster shots are available for flood affected residents and first responders who may need them. Contact the Pequannock Township Health Department during business hours to schedule an appointment. Newbridge Services has counselors available for anyone feeling overwhelmed. The intersection of Jacksonville Rd & the Boulevard is subject to closure due to a water main break. Residents in that vicinity may be without water for some period today. All roads within the flood affected area's of the Township remain open to homeowners and service personnel only. These rules are being actively enforced.

Donations for relief can be made out to the "First Reformed Church" and sent to the First Reformed Church at 529 Turnpike, Pompton Plains. Residents who require assistance may use the same contact information.
